First revealed in 2005 in an article by Fábio Gusmão, Dona Joana's story received widespread attention in the national media. She is the story of an 80-year-old woman who, from the window of her home in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, using a camera propped up on books and phone books, filmed the entire drug trafficking scene and police negligence.

Dona Joana's identity was only revealed after her death in 2023. The cover features a photo of her and reinforces her real name — Victoria was the name assigned to her by the Witness Protection Program.
