Since 2025, the education department at Instituto Moreira Salles has been offering Cadernos de Mediação Cultural (Cultural Mediation Booklets), which aim to provoke thought on contemporary issues in the arts, culture, and society, encouraging the use of images in the classroom as a field for reading, critical reflection, and creation. Focused on dialogical processes, the booklets support teachers, educators, and cultural mediators in training practices and can be used as an accessible resource in cultural mediation contexts.
Working closely with the IMS team since the project's conception, we created the graphic design that would encompass all the titles in the series. For each new exhibition at the institution, we design the booklet based on content created by the education team according to a selection of images from the exhibition.
The visual system we designed includes a grid with six columns that can be used in various ways to cover different content and emphasize the images. The autonomy of the set of booklets is reinforced by their visual identity, and each booklet is related to the exhibition to which it refers through the use of a predominant color from the exhibition combined with black, white, and gray.
