Oriana

Visual identity and graphic interventions for the Oriana exhibition, an audiovisual installation by Puerto Rican artist Beatriz Santiago Muñoz.

Oriana

In her first solo exhibition in Brazil, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz presented Oriana – a multi-channel audiovisual installation based on the book As guerrilleiras, by feminist writer Monique Wittig (1969) –, occupying the entire exhibition space at Pivô.

In addition to the visual identity (applied to the poster, folder and exhibition invitations), we created typographic interventions that were painted throughout the entire exhibition space. Inspired by excerpts from the audiovisual installation in which body paintings are made from natural pigments, the background texture of the graphic pieces was created with paint made from beetroot and subsequently treated via graphics software. The names that make up the interventions applied in the space come from women's names from Wittig's book.

The exhibition was part of the 34th São Paulo Biennial network.
